here is some info [there is much more to be found if you
are intrigued] on the topic of vote
tampering/irregularities. in my biased opinion these
irregularities are evidence of the theft of the election
that i said before i was concerned would happen. what i'd
really like to see is some actual statistical analysis of
these irregularities~ [does anyone know if any respectable statisticians HAVE actually looked at this?]
this is a concise version of the premise as i see it:
1- exit polling is generally [before this election] agreed
to be highly accurate [i doubt that it is this accurate but
i had seen one person claiming that they were usually only
off from .1~.5% [as in LESS than half of one percent]]
2- for some reason there are MANY instances of the exit
polls being abnormally inaccurate this time [11.2.04
election]
3- coincidentally ~ most all of the exit poll
"inaccuracies" happen to occur in precincts where there is
some form of a non-verifiable electronic voting system in
place [ie- touch-screen voting with NO paper trail]...
supposedly in precincts where there was a paper trail, the
exit polls matched the reported voting within traditional
margins of error
4- also coincidentally - supposedly- in every one of these
cases where there is a discrepancy between the exit poll
and reported votes cast; the discrepancy just HAPPENS to be
in favor of the republicans
SO THE QUESTION IS- what are the odds of that? in other
words, if those four premises are basically valid, what are
the astronomical probabilities that those sort of
irregularities could occur by chance alone?
Other related reasons for concern that electronic voting
machine companies may have political bias:
-one company is owned/run by a major Bush campaign
contributor that publicly promised to deliver the vote for
bush [i believe this is Diebold Inc, and he was referring
specifically to delivering Ohio to dubya just as Jeb
promised and delivered Florida to shrub in 2000]... there
are reports that at least one of the other companies [in
addition to diebold] are not just heavy bush campaign
contributors, but also are extremist, fundamentalist
christians... with quotes of why they support bush that are
much more offensive and inflammatory than Diebold's CEO's
quote.
-reports of another company being heavily invested by
foreign nationals. specifically Saudi Arabian i believe.
[not necessarily enough reason for concern myself except
that i would see it as outright hypocrisy for this not to
be an issue with xenophobic republicans]
other related questions:
-how can we trust someone that has the combination of a
devout belief that they are annointed by AND on a mission
for God [NOT so subtle freudian slip that he was going to
the mideast on a Crusade] while also not being
intellectually capable of recollecting a single instance of
making a mistake and learning from it. THIS IS OUR WISE
LEADER? this is what 51% of americans put near blind faith
in? as the brits said; "how can 59 million people be so
dumb?"
-how can it NOT be a conflict of interest to be both the
secretary of state [after the governor, THE person
responsible for fair and equitable elections] AND the chair
of a particular candidate's election campaign for that same
state??? [eg- Kathryn Harris, FL 2000; also i believe the
current sec/state for both FL and Ohio this year]
-why would we want to entrust the most sacred element of
our "democracy" [technically our system is not a true
democracy] to private corporations? is there no limit to
the fervor for privatization of public welfare? power is
sold [worked great in CA, right?], water will be soon [look
into Bechtel's performance elsewhere in the americas if you
want to see why this is an impending nightmare], the public
airwaves have been sold out to megacorporations thanks to
the gutting of antimonopoly laws starting with clinton's
[with repub. congress] FCC reforms back in '94 or '96...
carried on to new heights by michael powell [can we say
nepotism, mr Sec of State Colin Powell?].... could go on
for pages on the insanity, inefficiency, and ill history of
privatization
there are many more areas for discussion and/or reasons for
my concern. keep in mind this isn't even getting into the
documented reality of racist and socioeconomic bias in
voting precincts and procedure, reported instances of
republican voter "challengers" basing their challenges on
voter's appearance being "colored" [mideast appearance or
otherwise], or why Fox news called California for Kerry
hours after other networks did yet managed to predict Ohio
for Bush hours BEFORE anyone else did.
privatization and Bush regime conflicts of interest deserve
books of their own [actually they both do already have
small libraries devoted to them].
I'll cut myself off with this last thought~ history tends
to repeat itself [it is well documented by mostly foreign
media that Bush did in fact lose the vote in Florida in
2000, but due to influence, connections, and HIGHLY
unethical if not criminal actions before, during AND after
the election the republican party [[+neocons, bush family,
religious right, insert conspiracy threory here]] was able
to get away with what I amount to a theft of an election.
~"know your history lest you be doomed to repeat it"
~"fool me once; shame on you- fool me twice; shame on me"
or as shrub put it ~"fool me once... uh- shame on you...
fool me twice... umm... shame... uhh... it's a shame...
um... yeah- SHAME!"

here's the breaking story of straight-up false election

i'm so sick of hearing that the exit polls were wrong!!!
when is the
mainstream press going to cover this?!? i'm beginning to
think that
it's
very likely that kerry could have won this election, but
the legal
hurdles
to proving it are just too high. we have to do something
before jeb is
"elected" in 2008!

There is evidence that voting irregularities in New
Hampshire are the
tip of
the iceberg showing irregularities in swing states.
Nader is willing to challenge the election result in New
Hampshire and
swing
states IF citizen groups will express support for this
action.
Please send letters to Nadir's office IMMEDIATELY to fax
number
202-265-0092.
FINALLY we have someone willing to challenge potential foul
play.
Please take the time to FAX Nader and spread the word.
